Kuʻulei Arceo is the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Aloha Music, a nonprofit dedicated to revitalizing music education in Hawaiʻi. With over a decade of experience as a music educator, Kuʻulei brings a deep commitment to nurturing and expanding the role of music in young people’s lives. Currently the Music Director at Hilo High School, she has significantly influenced her students and community, cultivating an inclusive, vibrant music program. Previously, as Band Director at Keaʻau Middle School, she transformed the music program, growing it to nearly 200 students, which meant one in four students at the school participated in band under her leadership.
A graduate of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Instrumental Music Education, Kuʻulei also holds a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Phoenix. Her work at Aloha Music reflects her dedication to the cultural preservation of Hawaiian music, as well as her mission to make music education accessible to all students across the islands. Kuʻulei envisions a future where music programs flourish in Hawaiʻi’s schools, fostering the next generation of musicians and cultural leaders.
