All percussion exercises should be learned and practiced at 100 bpm, 110 bpm and 120 bpm. Marking time while playing these warmups is essential to the overall consistency of this ensemble.
Those individuals auditioning for snare drum will be required to play using traditional grip.
8’s - play through this entire exercise at 3 inches, 6 inches, 9 inches and 12 inches. Also, practice playing it with crescendos at each measure, and then decrescendos at each measure.
ACCENT TAP - play through this entire exercise with accents at 6 inches, 9 inches and 12 inches.
DOUBLE BEAT - play through this entire exercise at 3 inches, 6 inches, 9 inches and 12 inches.
4-2-1 GRID - play through this entire exercise with accents at 6 inches, 9 inches and 12 inches.
